You have the right to know what personal information SOHOON Technologies, the operator of GetGroceryPOS, holds about you, and to ask us to correct or delete it. This page explains how. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why.
What you can ask for
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you, where it came from, why we use it and who we share it with
- Give you a copy of that information
- Correct information that is wrong or out of date
- Delete your information
- Stop using your information for a purpose, such as follow-up messages
- Withdraw consent for analytics or contact at any time
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context advertising, so there is no sale to opt out of. You can still ask us to confirm that.
These rights come from laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) and other US state privacy laws, the UAE’s Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 (PDPL), and good practice in Pakistan. We honor the same basic requests for everyone, wherever they live.
How to make a request
Use the data request form on this page. Tell us:
- Your name and the email or phone number you used with us
- Your country (and US state, if you are in the US)
- What you want: a copy, a correction, deletion, or something else
- For a correction, what is wrong and what it should say
You can also use the Show email button on this page to write to us directly.
You will not be charged for a request, unless requests are clearly excessive or repeated, where the law allows a reasonable fee.
How we check it is you
To protect your information, we confirm your identity before we act. Usually we send a message to the email address or phone number we already have for you and ask you to confirm. We will not ask for more information than we need, and we use what you send only to verify the request.
If you use an authorized agent (someone acting for you), we will ask for written permission from you and may still confirm directly with you.
How long it takes
- We confirm we received your request within 10 business days.
- We answer most requests within 30 days.
- For California residents, we respond within 45 days, as the law requires. If we need more time, up to another 45 days, we will tell you why.
- In the UAE, we respond within the time the PDPL and its regulations require.
When we cannot do everything you ask
Sometimes the law requires us to keep certain records, such as invoices and payment records for tax purposes, or information needed to prevent fraud or settle a dispute. If we cannot delete or change something, we tell you what and why, and we delete everything else.
Store owners: your POS data
If you run a store on GetGroceryPOS, your products, sales, stock, suppliers, staff and customer records belong to your store.
- Export any time. You can export products and other records from inside the software.
- After you cancel. You can export your data for 30 days after your subscription ends. After that, it is deleted from the live system and removed from backups as they roll over.
- Need help? If you want a full export or have trouble exporting, use the form on this page and choose the store data option. We will verify that you are the account owner before sending anything.
Your customers and staff
If you are a shopper or an employee of a store that uses GetGroceryPOS, the store decides how your information is used. Please contact the store directly. If you contact us, we will pass your request to the store and help them respond.
If you are not satisfied
If you are not happy with how we handled your request, tell us and we will review it. You may also contact your local privacy or consumer protection authority. California residents can find more information on the California Attorney General’s CCPA page, linked below.
