Before you cancel the old system.

A short checklist from stores that switched in a hurry.

  1. Read your processor and hardware-lease contracts for notice periods and early-termination fees.
  2. Export twelve months of sales and tax reports for your accountant.
  3. Export customer balances (store credit, house accounts) and check them against the import.
  4. Write down your label-scale settings and receipt header.
  5. If you take EBT, confirm with your EBT processor how the terminal works with the new register.

8 questions on the shelf

  1. How much does it cost to switch?

Moving your catalogue, customers and vendors is free on every plan. You only pay your plan once your trial ends.

  2. Can I switch without closing the store?

Yes. Run one register on GetGroceryPOS next to your old system for a day, then move the rest. Nobody has to close.

  3. Which POS systems can you move from?

Any system that can export products to a spreadsheet (CSV or Excel). That covers almost every POS, including the big brands and older grocery systems. If yours only prints reports, we can work from a price list.

  4. Will my label scales still work?

Usually yes, with the same item codes. You set the scale’s label format in GetGroceryPOS once. See weighing scales.

  5. What happens to my card processor and EBT?

Card payments run through a processor you choose; EBT through your certified EBT processor. If your current processor is locked to your old POS, check your contract before switching; we help you plan the order.

  6. Do I lose my sales history?

It stays in your old system. Export a year of sales reports for your records and taxes before you cancel it.

  7. How long does the whole switch take?

Most single stores switch within a week: a few days to clean the data, one day side by side, then the rest of the lanes.

  8. Can you do it in Spanish, Arabic or Urdu?

Yes, switching calls can be in our site languages. Tell us on the form.
