Custom payment methods: JazzCash, Easypaisa, bank transfer and more

Rename and turn on custom payment methods so each way customers pay, from JazzCash and Easypaisa to Apple Pay and store credit, shows in your reports.

Customers pay in many ways, and they differ by country. A Karachi kiryana takes JazzCash and Easypaisa; a Dubai supermarket sees Apple Pay taps all day; a Los Angeles market has regulars who pay at the end of the week. Custom payment methods let your register record each one by name.

What custom payments are

Besides cash and card, the software has several custom payment slots you can rename. Each one appears as a button on the payment screen and as its own line on the register closing report. They record how a sale was paid; they do not move money themselves.

Common setups by country

Country Typical methods How they reach you
United States Cash, card (incl. contactless), EBT, check, store account Card and EBT through your processors
UAE Cash, card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank transfer Wallet taps through your card processor’s terminal
Pakistan Cash, card, JazzCash, Easypaisa, bank transfer, khata (credit) Wallet and bank payments into your own accounts

Set up a custom payment method

  1. Open the payment methods settings (custom payments) in your business settings.
  2. Rename the first custom slot, for example “JazzCash”.
  3. Rename the next ones: “Easypaisa”, “Bank transfer”, “Store credit”.
  4. Turn on the ones cashiers should see.
  5. If your setup links payment methods to accounts, choose which account each method goes into.
  6. Save.

Keep names short. Cashiers tap these buttons with a line of people waiting.

Taking a wallet or transfer payment

  1. Ring up the basket and open payment.
  2. Choose the method, for example JazzCash.
  3. Confirm the customer’s payment arrived on your phone or account before you hand over the goods.
  4. Optionally type the transaction ID in the payment note, which makes disputes easy.
  5. Complete the sale.

Store credit and customer accounts

For regulars who pay later:

  1. Add the customer to the sale.
  2. Complete it with a partial payment or none, so the balance goes on their account.
  3. When they pay, add a payment against their account.

The customer’s page shows the running balance, like a paper khata book but with dates and totals.

Reconciling at closing

The closing report lists totals per payment method. Each evening:

  1. Count cash.
  2. Compare the card total with your card processor’s batch.
  3. Compare JazzCash, Easypaisa and bank totals with the statements on your phone.

Differences are almost always a sale recorded under the wrong button. Find it by time and amount.

Common problems

A method does not show on the POS screen. It is not turned on. Enable it in the payment settings.

Wallet totals do not match. A cashier chose cash for a JazzCash payment. Fix the payment on that sale.

I need more custom methods than there are slots. Ask support; we can suggest how to group them.

Questions about this step

4 questions on the shelf

  1. Does GetGroceryPOS process JazzCash or Easypaisa payments?

No. The customer pays into your JazzCash, Easypaisa or bank account as usual. The custom payment method records how the sale was paid, so your daily totals match your accounts.

  2. How do Apple Pay and Google Pay work?

They are accepted by your card processor's terminal like a card tap. Record them under card, or create a separate method if you want them counted apart.

  3. Can I give customers store credit?

Yes. Use a custom payment such as Store credit or Gift card, or use customer account balances so regulars can pay at the end of the month.

  4. Can I split one sale across two methods?

Yes. Add a second payment line on the payment screen, for example part cash and part JazzCash.
