Every GetGroceryPOS plan includes an online store. You do not design it or build it: when you add products to your catalogue, the store is generated from them, with the same names, prices, photos and stock your register uses.
How it is built
The online store reads from your product catalogue:
| From the catalogue | On the store |
|---|---|
| Product name (in any language) | Product title |
| Selling price | Price shown to customers |
| Category and sub-category | Store sections, such as Produce or Dry goods |
| Product image | Product photo |
| Stock on hand | In stock or out of stock |
| Business name, logo and location | Store header and contact details |
So the work you do for the register is the work that builds the store. There is no second catalogue to keep up to date.
Getting it ready
- Add your products. Import your spreadsheet. See import products.
- Choose what appears online. You may not want to show tobacco, lottery-adjacent items or products you only sell by the case to restaurants. Hide them from the store.
- Add photos. A clear photo on a plain background sells far better than a blank tile. Start with your 50 best sellers and your weekly specials.
- Write short descriptions for items customers ask about: what a chile is used for, what size the rice sack is, whether meat is zabiha halal.
- Check your store details: name, logo, address, opening hours.
Check it as a customer
Open the store on your phone, as a customer would.
- Browse a category and check prices against the shelf.
- Search for a product by name, in English and in your language.
- Check that an out-of-stock item shows as unavailable.
- Make a test order if ordering is turned on for your store, then cancel it.
Share it
The store is only useful if customers find it:
- Pin the link in your WhatsApp Business profile and broadcast lists.
- Add it to your Google Business Profile as your website or order link.
- Print it as a QR code on receipts, bags and the front window.
- Post weekly specials with the link on social media.
When to upgrade to a managed website
The auto store is a catalogue. It does not tell your story, rank for “Mexican grocery near me” or carry a weekly specials page in three languages. If you want that, the managed grocery website is designed and kept up to date for you, and it is included in the Store Bundle.
| Auto online store | Managed website | |
|---|---|---|
| Built from your catalogue | Yes | Yes, plus custom pages |
| Design | Standard layout with your logo | Designed for your store |
| Weekly specials, about, recipes | Products only | Yes, updated for you |
| Languages | Product names as typed | Pages written in your languages |
| Cost | Included in every plan | See pricing |
Common problems
A product shows the wrong price online. The online store uses the catalogue price. Fix the product price; if you use separate price groups, check which one the store reads.
Products without photos look empty. Add images, starting with best sellers. Ask us about bulk photo upload on the onboarding call.
A hidden product still appears. Check the product’s online visibility setting and its category.
