Create your GetGroceryPOS account

Sign up for the free trial in about two minutes: what you need, how the trial works, and what to do right after you log in for the first time.

Creating your account is the first step of the setup flow: sign up → create your business → add your store, registers and staff → add products → start selling. This article covers the first step. It takes about two minutes.

What do you need before you sign up?

You need an email address you check, a password, and your store’s name and country. That is all. You do not need a card, a product list or any hardware to open the account. Have your product spreadsheet ready later, when you reach the products step.

Use an email that belongs to the business, not a cashier’s personal address. The admin account controls billing, staff logins and settings, so it should stay with the owner.

How to create the account

  1. Click Start free trial on any page of this site. The sign-up form opens on the app site.
  2. Fill in your name, your email and a password. Use at least 10 characters and do not reuse a password from another site.
  3. Type your store name the way customers know it. You can add the legal name later for invoices.
  4. Choose your country. This sets the currency (USD, AED or PKR), the date format and the starting tax setup.
  5. Submit the form and log in.

When you log in for the first time you land on the dashboard. It will look empty. That is normal: it fills up as you add products and make sales.

What happens during the free trial?

The trial gives you the full software so you can test it with your real products: label-scale barcodes, PLU lookup, case and unit pricing, purchase orders and receipts in your language. Nothing is charged during the trial. Before it ends you choose a plan on the pricing page or simply stop using it.

Tip: run the trial with real data. Import your product spreadsheet, ring up a few test baskets, print a receipt and scan a label from your deli scale. That tells you far more than clicking through empty screens.

What to do right after you log in

  1. Go to the business settings and check the currency, time zone and financial year start.
  2. Upload your store logo so it prints on receipts.
  3. Set your receipt language and the default language for your own screen.
  4. Move on to setting up your business.

Setting up the registers

You do not install anything on the registers. On each PC, tablet or touch terminal:

  1. Open the browser and log in.
  2. Save the app link as a bookmark, or on a tablet use “Add to home screen”.
  3. Keep the browser up to date. Old browsers can have trouble with printing and barcode scanners.

Each cashier should later get their own login rather than sharing the admin account. That keeps sales, cash counts and permissions separate per person.

Common problems

I did not receive a confirmation email. Check the spam or promotions folder. If it is not there after a few minutes, try signing up again with the same email, or ask support through the form on the contact page.

The sign-up page says the email is already used. You or a family member may have already created an account with that address. Use “Forgot password” on the login page to reset it instead of creating a second account.

I picked the wrong country. If you have not recorded any sales yet, change it in the business settings or ask support to fix it. Changing currency after sales exist needs support’s help.

The page looks broken on an old tablet. Update the browser. If the device cannot run a current browser, it is too old for a POS screen; see the hardware guide for what works.

Need a hand?

If you would rather not do it alone, book a demo. We can set up the account with you on a call, in your language, and import your products while you watch.

Questions about this step

4 questions on the shelf

  1. Do I need a credit card to start the trial?

No. The trial does not ask for a card. You only add billing details when you decide to keep using GetGroceryPOS after the trial.

  2. Do I need to install software?

No. GetGroceryPOS runs in a web browser. You log in from any PC, tablet or touch terminal with a current browser such as Chrome, Edge or Safari.

  3. Can I change my store name or country later?

Yes, the store name, logo and most business details can be changed later in the business settings. If you need to change the currency after you have recorded sales, ask support first, because past sales were recorded in the old currency.

  4. Who should create the account?

The owner or the person who will manage the store. That first user becomes the admin and can add other staff with their own logins and permissions.
